AcademyAI is a workplace learning platform focused on AI skills. It is built for organisations that have rolled out tools such as ChatGPT and Copilot but do not know whether employees can use them effectively in daily work.
The platform assesses employees using a six-axis AI capability framework developed with the Alan Turing Institute Methodology. It evaluates areas including critical thinking, judgement, prompting, assessing AI-generated outputs and practical AI skills. After identifying gaps, it provides personalised training and use cases based on each employee's role.
Instead of long webinars or generic courses, AcademyAI delivers applied learning in five-minute modules tailored to an organisation's context, tools and terminology. The platform uses underlying AI models to generate and update training content as tools and practices change. Managers and leadership teams get dashboards that track AI capability across individuals, teams and departments.
AcademyAI was co-founded by Alex Packham, Andy Lambert, Michael Walton and Rob Barnett. In September 2026 it raised GBP 1.65 million in an oversubscribed pre-seed round, with investors including Nexus Family Office and Panthera Family Office. The funding will go towards developing the assessment and training platform.
