What is Ando?
Ando is a modern team messaging platform designed for teams made up of both people and AI agents. It covers the familiar building blocks of workplace chat - channels, direct messages, group conversations, and live calls with transcription - but treats agents as participants in the conversation instead of apps bolted onto the side.
The idea behind the product comes from founder and CEO Sara Du, who described the problem as agents being "treated as apps you install even as they were becoming participants in the team." In a typical setup, a person runs an agent and then relays its output to colleagues. Ando lets agents post and work directly in shared conversations so their output reaches the team without a human go-between.
The company emerged from stealth in September 2026 with $20 million across pre-seed and seed rounds from Accel, Index Ventures, and Emergence. According to TechCrunch, it already serves customers in 15 countries, mostly small teams, across software, real estate, and finance.
Ando positions itself as an alternative to Slack for companies that are starting to rely on AI agents for everyday internal work. Teams evaluating it should expect a young product that is still expanding its feature set and integrations.
