What is Cato?
Cato is an AI platform from Italy that helps companies find, analyse and compete for public tenders. Competing for public contracts often means screening many notices, reading long tender documents, checking eligibility requirements and preparing both administrative and technical bids. Cato aims to automate parts of that workflow while leaving the final submission under the customer's control.
The platform monitors more than 27,000 sources in real time and ranks tenders by their relevance to each company. Its AI analyses tender documents to extract requirements and evaluation criteria, flags potential contradictions between documents, and pre-fills administrative and technical bid materials using information the customer provides. Information generated by the platform is linked back to its original sources.
Six months after launch, Cato says it has processed thousands of tenders for customers across Italy, from SMEs to large companies in sectors such as medical devices, construction, IT and services. Andrea Zorzetto is CEO and co-founder.
In September 2026 Cato raised EUR 6 million in seed funding led by Keen Venture Partners, bringing its total funding to EUR 7.6 million. The company plans to extend the platform into more sectors and support multinational customers with tenders outside Italy.
