About logcat.ai
logcat.ai builds AI agents that analyze device logs to find the root cause of bugs across the kernel, modem and firmware of Android and Linux devices. The Seattle startup raised $2.55 million in pre-seed funding in July 2026, led by Founders' Co-op.

What is logcat.ai?
logcat.ai is a Seattle startup building AI agents for the operating-system layer inside phones, vehicles and other connected devices, an area largely untouched by AI coding tools. Its agents hunt down bugs across the kernel, modem and firmware of devices running Android or Linux.
Engineers upload the log files a device produces when something goes wrong, such as bug reports and kernel logs. logcat.ai analyzes them together to find the root cause and point to where in the code the fix belongs. Every finding cites the exact log line it came from so engineers can verify the work. Today it recommends fixes; the longer-term plan is to write and test fixes, with engineers approving changes before deployment.
The company says it has served hundreds of engineering teams in a public beta, analyzed more than 10 billion lines of trace data and run thousands of automated investigations. It is generating revenue. App-level crash tools such as Crashlytics and Sentry stop at the app layer, while logcat.ai targets deeper system debugging.
CEO Varun Chitre and CTO Tarun Vashisth met at device-management company Esper. Chitre has more than 13 years in OS bring-up and was a LineageOS maintainer.
Pros
- Targets OS-level debugging below where app crash tools like Sentry stop
- Cites the exact log line behind each finding for easy verification
- Analyzes multiple log types such as bug reports and kernel logs together
- Founders have deep Android and Linux platform experience
Cons
- Currently recommends fixes rather than writing them
- Two-person team at the time of funding
- Niche focus on Android and Linux device engineering
How to Use logcat.ai
- 1Collect device logs
Gather bug reports, kernel logs and other traces from the failing device.
- 2Upload to logcat.ai
Upload the logs so the agents can analyze them together.
- 3Review root cause
Read the identified root cause and the cited log lines behind it.
- 4Apply the fix
Use the recommended code location and fix to resolve the issue in your OS stack.
