What is Roma AI?
Roma AI is a platform for building and managing AI agents that plug into a company's existing systems. Agents can connect with payment platforms, calendars, product catalogs and proprietary software, which lets them do real work such as taking bookings or answering product questions instead of only chatting.
The platform is designed with data control in mind. Sensitive data stays within each client's infrastructure, and companies can monitor and audit the actions their agents take.
Roma AI was founded by Richard Barbera, Javier Hernandez and Benjamin De Oto. It serves more than 50 companies across Latin America and processes over 500,000 messages each month. Plans start at $99 per month for 500 conversations, which puts it within reach of small and mid-sized businesses.
In August 2026 Roma AI raised a $1.2 million seed round led by Invexor Venture Partners. The company plans to spend 55% of the funding on growing its team from 9 to 30 employees over six months, including hires in Uruguay, 33% on marketing and events and 12% on technology and infrastructure.
