About Scape
Scape is a Stockholm-based AI-native email client that prepares work before you open a thread, drafting replies, generating or editing attachments and surfacing only the emails that need attention. It learns from the inbox and a built-in local meeting notetaker. In July 2026 it emerged from stealth with $3.2 million from Y Combinator, General Catalyst and FundersClub.

What is Scape?
Scape is an intelligent email inbox designed for professionals who do most of their work in email. Its pitch is that the inbox should have done the work before you open it, rather than offering a compose-time assistant bolted onto a traditional client.
When you open a thread, Scape has already drafted a response that is ready to review and send. Drafts can include attachments that Scape has created or edited. This works because Scape learns continuously from the entire inbox and from meetings through its built-in local meeting notetaker.
The main inbox view shows only the emails that require attention and is organized around custom labels such as Customers and Hiring. Lower-priority mail like notifications and newsletters is hidden by default.
Scape was founded by Melvin Hagberg, who started the company as a solo founder in Y Combinator's summer 2024 batch. It began as an email customer support tool before pivoting. Elis Hodzic joined as co-founder in 2025 after first backing the company as an investor. The team is five people in Stockholm.
In July 2026 Scape emerged from stealth with $3.2 million from Y Combinator, General Catalyst and FundersClub.
